Dwarf Jacob's Ladder

The Dwarf Jacob's Ladder, Polemonium caeruleum, is a small lavender flower that populates in springs and summers. The flowers are flat and a beautiful sky blue with a yellow inside. It grows in spikes and seem fern like. It blooms in late spring and repeats throughout the summer. It prefers partially shaded areas and rocky areas. It will grow around 18 to 35 inches.
I am curious if this flower is the reason for the name of the piercing.
