Artist Conk

Canoderma applanatum is a mushroom that is commonly referred to as artist conk. Their common name was given to them because artist often use them as a medium to etch designs. They become quite hard when dried and this helps them to be displayed. They are usually brown and white and they grow out of the sides of trees like shelves.
